What it represents
In astrological interpretation, the Ascendant describes your entrance into the world: your greeting in a room, the way you look around at a first meeting, how you begin a conversation. It is the zodiac point rising on the eastern horizon at your birth time and location, so calculating it requires both place and time. It speaks of first impressions, presentation and approaching unfamiliar situations. A familiar response can help you make contact; it can also make a different entrance harder to try. Astraluno uses Whole Sign houses: the Ascendant's sign fills the first house, while the calculated point falls within it.
