The cardinal modality begins a situation through a first choice that sets something in motion.

## What it represents

In astrological interpretation, a modality describes how a sign approaches an experience's rhythm. Cardinal belongs to Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, which open the seasons in the tropical zodiac's Northern Hemisphere reference. It is the initiating gesture: you send the first invitation, prepare a place for someone, write a title for a project still to develop. The gift is turning a wait into movement. The challenge is accompanying what you began when the path asks for patience. Each element gives initiative a different language: action, care, dialogue or construction. The planets involved show which themes tend to seek this first step.
